2006 Quality and Food Safety Audits Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines

Kosher Certification (August 22, August 29)

All products of Davao and San Pablo plants are certified Kosher by OK Kosher Certification. All certificates are available on Digital Kosher website.

FPA-SAFE Audit (October 24-27; November 14-17)
Food Products Association – Supplier Audit for Food Excellence

Davao and San Pablo plants have recently concluded the FPA-SAFE audit this year on October and November respectively. Davao plant had 12 categories with substantially meets rating and the rest are fully meets rating while San Pablo plant got only 3 categories with substantially meets rating, the rest are fully meets. The final audit report is still under review by the auditing body and is expected to be released in the FPA-SAFE website before the year ends.

BRC Audit (November 21-22; November 23-24)
British Retail Consortium

San Pablo and Davao plants have been subjected to BRC audit as requested by some customers. San Pablo and Davao plants were both certified. Both got B rating. BRC review of corrective actions on non-conformances raised is on going and the plants are expected to receive the  certificates by January.

SMETA Audit (November 14; December 13)
Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit

The two plants of Franklin Baker® Company have also undergone SMETA audit, focusing on social accountability. Both plants passed the audit with few minor non-conformities.

ISO 9001:2000 and HACCP [Codex CAC/RCP 1-1969, Rev 4 (2003)]
Certification International Phils., Inc.

Both plants undergo surveillance audit of third party certifying body twice a year. Both plants got no non-conformance on this year’s surveillance audits.

 

Customer Audits:

Nestle

San Pablo plant was subjected to Nestle audit as requested by Nestle USA and passed the audit. The plant remained to be an approved supplier to Nestle.

Schwan’s

San Pablo plant was also subjected to Schwan’s audit and got a rating of 98.8%. The plant became an approved supplier of Schwan’s.
